1. Fair Havens
Original (Greek): Καλοὶ Λιμένες (Kaloi Limenes)
Meaning: “Beautiful Harbors”
First Appearance: Acts 27:8
Description: A harbor located on the southern coast of Crete, where Paul’s ship briefly stopped during his trip to Rome. Because it was open to bad weather, it was considered a poor place to stay through the winter.

2. Felix
Original (Greek): Φῆλιξ (Phélix)
Meaning: “Lucky” or “successful”
First Appearance: Acts 23:24
Description: The Roman governor ruling Judea when Paul was a prisoner. Paul stood trial before him, and Felix, perhaps hoping for a bribe, held the apostle for two years. His time in office was known for cruelty and loose morals, finally leading to him being removed from his position.

3. Festus
Original (Greek): Φῆστος (Phēstos)
Meaning: “Festive” or “joyful”
First Appearance: Acts 24:27
Description: The man who took over for Felix as the Roman governor of Judea, taking on the handling of Paul’s legal case. Festus suggested moving Paul to Jerusalem for trial; however, Paul used his right as a Roman citizen to appeal straight to Caesar. Later, Festus talked with King Agrippa II about the details of Paul’s situation.

4. Fortunatus
Original (Greek): Φορτουνάτος (Phortounatos)
Meaning: “Fortunate” or “blessed”
First Appearance: 1 Corinthians 16:17
Description: One of three men, including Stephanas and Achaicus, who brought a letter and likely some money from the Corinthian church to Paul. Paul said that their visit had lifted his spirits and urged the Corinthians to value their leadership.

5. Fountain Gate
Original (Hebrew): שַׁער העין (Sha’ar ha-Ayin)
Meaning: “Gate of the Fountain”
First Appearance: Nehemiah 2:14
Description: A gate built into the walls of Jerusalem, likely getting its name from a nearby spring or fountain. Nehemiah checked its state during his night-time inspection of the city’s ruined walls.
