A new world

Picture this: God had just created a brand new earth, but it was still empty. There were no plants, no rain, and no people. But God made something cool happen—a mist rose from the ground that started to water the earth. Something big was coming!

God creates Adam

Then God did something amazing! He took dust from the ground and shaped it into a person, kind of like the ultimate Play-Doh project. God breathed into the person’s nose, and just like that—it was alive! That’s how Adam was created, the very first human.

A perfect garden home

God also planted a wonderful garden in a place called Eden. Picture the most amazing park you’ve ever seen, but even better! God filled it with all kinds of trees that were beautiful and also good to eat.

In the center, He placed two special trees: the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

God then gave Adam an important job to take care of this amazing garden. But there was one big rule—don’t eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. If Adam did, something really bad would happen—he would die. Remember this part for later!

Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

A helper for Adam

God saw that Adam was alone and needed a helper. So, He created all sorts of animals and birds and brought them to Adam. Adam had the cool job of naming each one—imagine how fun it would have been to name every animal you’ve ever seen!

But even with all these amazing creatures around, none of them was quite right to be Adam’s helper.

So, God had a special idea. He made Adam fall into a deep sleep and took one of his ribs. From this rib, God created a woman.

God creates Eve

When Adam woke up and saw the woman God had made from his rib for the first time, he was excited and said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” Adam knew right away she was special, as God had created her from his own body to be his perfect partner.

This is how marriage first started. The Bible says this is why a man leaves his parents to start a new life with his wife, and the two become one. They are so close, it’s like they’re one person!

Pure in the beginning

Adam and his wife lived in a world where everything was new and pure, completely different from today. Back then, they didn’t have to worry about clothes, what others thought, or hiding anything from each other or God.

But what happened next in the Garden of Eden changed everything.
