- Let’s examine our foundations – and identify the sand and the rock.
We need to take an honest look at the different areas of our lives: our relationships, work, finances, habits, and even our thoughts. Let’s ask ourselves: Is this part of my life built on God’s truth (the rock), or is it built on our own opinions, comfort, or what others think (the sand)?
If we find an area of our lives built on sand, let’s not be discouraged. God graciously invites us to rebuild and realign that part on His Word. At the same time, we should strengthen the areas already built on the rock so we don’t slowly drift away. Let’s make it a regular habit to check our foundation and put helpful measures in place—like accountability, prayer, good fellowship, and regular spiritual reflection—to help us stay rooted in Christ, together. - Build our beliefs on Scripture, not the winds of opinion
God’s way is clearly revealed in the Bible. If we’re not grounded in Scripture, we’ll end up going with the wind—drifting wherever popular culture, trends, or our own emotions lead us.
